Changes Planned for Twitter Brand Pages | Moxie Pulse

3.8twit

Last December, Twitter revamped the way brands can use landing pages. Twitter has now announced plans to add additional branded experiences such as e-commerce capabilities, contests, and sweepstakes. App developers will be able to create experiences on Twitter that are similar to Facebook apps and will be included in the brand’s tweet timeline, not as the traditional 140-character limit post. No release date has been set, but the features are expected to go live sometime during 2012.

Implications: These changes to how brands can interact with users will make a Twitter brand page more of a destination which will hopefully lead to more engagement. You should be on the lookout for these changes and see how you can utilize the features.
