Facebook began a rollout of ads posting to the news feed today. These paid ads are an addition to the ad system of “Sponsored” stories found on the sidebar. The ads are labeled as “Featured” to distinguish them as a paid marketing message from a brand page they have chosen to connect to. Stories that friends have interacted with also have the potential to appear in your news feed. Facebook claims only one Featured story will appear in news feeds daily during the rollout.
Implications: Facebook Featured ads present a more engaging way for brands to interact with users through pages and branded messages.
