Programming Buzz from Zenith: Tuesday 9/27/11 – CBS #1 Network, New Girl #1 Program

Tuesday 9/27/11 – CBS #1 Network, New Girl #1 Program

In week 2, FOX’s recently picked-up New Girl again out-delivered its Glee lead-in, ranking just ahead of CBS’ NCIS for the lead among A18-49. Averaging a 3.34 A18-49 Live Rtg, the freshman series declined 9% from its premiere, though improved the year ago week 2 performance of Raising Hope by a healthy 29%. With a lower benchmark set last week, Glee remained relatively steady week to week, though was off a significant 35% from a year ago. Losing roughly one quarter of the New Girl lead-in audience, Raising Hope still delivered substantial ratings in time period versus last year’s Running Wilde (+44%).

Fueling another win for the night across A18-49, CBS' NCIS and NCIS: LA remained reliable and were practically on par from last week, followed by the network's newest drama, Unforgettable (2.32 A18-49 Rtg), which was down a conservative 8% from premiere week among A18-49, while up slightly from year ago’s Good Wife time period premiere performance.

Following another recap special, the second week of Dancing with the Stars Results show on ABC remained flat versus the first week, while Body of Proof lost some steam from its first episode among A18-49 (-17%).

Holding on to most of its premiere week audience, a two-hour Biggest Loser on NBC still tracked below last fall’s ratings by double-digit percentages, while Parenthood improved over year ago and week ago benchmarks, beating ABC's Body of Proof in the 10pm hour.

As viewership began to settle during The CW’s week 3 airings, 90210 actually improved over last week as Ringer, up 24% over its lead-in, retained its A18-49 week to week audience.
