Seven WAN deal gives it more ad muscle - The Australian

THE $4.1bn merger of West Australian Newspapers and Seven Media Group would give the combined company more clout in the cross-platform ad market.
The combined group is billing itself as the "largest listed Australian-domiciled media company'' with total advertising and subscription revenues of just under $2 billion including metropolitan television, newspapers including The West Australian, radio, digital assets and pay-TV.
That makes it competitive with PBL Media, although Seven's dominance in the television business would give it extra weight in advertising negotiations, but leaves it well short of News Limited (which owns The Australian), whose advertising revenue is about 50 per cent as much again.
